Fort Adams State Park is a quaint recreation area where families can swim in the harbor, fish, play soccer, or enjoy a scenic picnic. The park is also locally famous for its annual outdoor summer music events, which include the renowned JVC Jazz Festival-Newport and the Apple & Eve Newport Folk Festival. Popular sites at the park include the historic Eisenhower House, the nineteenth century Fort Adams and the Museum of Yachting. It lies at the mouth of Newport Harbor, with a lovely view of that body of water, as well as the east passage of Narragansett Bay.
