Built in 1699, the delightfully simple Great Friends Meeting House is Rhode Island's oldest house of worship. Its austere medieval-style framework remains intact, though it is no longer used for Quaker meetings, instead it is open to the general public for tours run by the Newport Historical Society. It lies downtown, a block east of Cardines Field.
